Jumping for Joy: The Dolphin in Me

Me and my big mouth once blurted to you my dear readers that I was a mermaid (Check this out, Royal Dolphin). For that lem'me share a very well written article by someone, my former swim mate just share and posted it on my wall. It's "Date a Girl who Swims", date me?! chosss!! hehehe!

I'll also post pictures last sports fest. Wala Lang! Enjoy!

Date a Girl Who Swims

Date a girl who swims because she’s a happy girl and she finds joy in the simple things. Show her a photo of the beach and her eyes will sparkle. Write her name on the sand and she’ll feel like you gave her a bouquet of flowers.
Date a girl who swims because you can always take her to the beach even when she has her monthly period. She relishes the sand, the sun, the waves, and the marine life. Take a walk with her along the shore barefoot and she’d appreciate the conversation; she’d enjoy the sand tickling her toes; and she’d laugh heartily as the wind blows her hair. At moments of silences, she closes her eyes as she listens to the calming sound of the waves. When she opens her eyes, she appears more relaxed and she flashes that big grin of contentment.
Date a girl who swims, because she possesses natural beauty. She doesn’t need a sexy two-piece swim wear to flaunt her body. Her strong core, wide shoulders, and toned arms and legs shine through any clothes she wears.
Date a girl who swims. Understand that her dry hair was damaged by chlorine, the sun, and salt water. Date a girl who swims, because even after 4km of swim training, she still looks fresh. Date a girl who swims, because she has both natural grace and determination.
Love a girl who swims. Her sun-kissed skin is evidence of how much she could love a hobby or a sport that she dumps the notion that white is beauty. She could do more than get a tan for someone she loves. Love a girl who swims and who would do run trainings because of her coach’s instructions. She will run the required miles even though she’s not as comfortable on land as she is in water. She will do anything for her love of swimming. Likewise, she’ll do what it takes to show her love for you.
Love a girl who swims because she is as calm as a lake. She’s at peace with herself. Love a girl who swims and you find serenity in a beautiful woman. She’s as serene as a pristine beach. Love her even though she gets upset. Everyone cracks up sometimes. Love her through her PMS, and she will love and understand you just as she’d understand angry waves during a storm.
Love a girl who swims. She will love you like she loves the water. She can laugh with your shallow jokes and can listen to your deep, pensive monologue about your highly technical work.
Love a girl who swims. She may be physically strong, but take care of her fragile heart. Don’t pluck her from balanced aquatic-terrestrial life and just leave her because you’re insecure of her strength. When she starts to love you, you become her new home and source of strength. When things go rough, don’t just abandon her. That’s like capturing a carefree fish from the ocean, putting it in a bowl, taking care of it, and leaving it to die.
Love a girl who swims. Be expressive with your feelings. Tuck a note inside her swim cap. Pick her up after her swim trainings. Treat her to a hearty, protein-packed recovery dinner after her speed drills (Don’t be surprised that her appetite is as big as yours. Then you start to wonder where she stores the food in her body.). Propose to her in the most romantic way you can think of and make her feel like she’s  a Disney water princess.
Marry a girl who swims. No need for a fancy honeymoon at a five-star hotel with an infinity pool. Just take her to a private beach and she’ll be happy. Marry a girl who swims. With arms toned and core muscles strong, she’s fit to cuddle and carry your baby for long hours.
Marry a girl who swims. She will teach your children how to float and glide on water. She’ll let your children paddle through the water on their own until they get to relax in the pool while she keeps a close watch. She’ll let your children be free to play with other kids and support their other endeavors, but she still keeps watch to guide them as they grow up.
Marry a girl who swims and be loyal to her. When both of you grow old and gray,  you can simply watch the sunset by the beach. Smile at her. Observe her. She’ll flash back that same smile whenever you took her by the beach years ago. She’s still that happy, content, care-free swimmer you loved and always love.

After awhile getting back to a familiar place, felt awesomely good. It just brings back memories and adding up more to it. Swimming might not into me but having it once in my life, not be the best but surely one of the happiest. And freestyle I go... Zoooomm!

Halloween @ The Office

Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of its original title "All Hallows' Evening"), also known as All Hallows' Eve is a yearly holiday observed around the world on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows. According to some scholars, All Hallows' Eve was originally influenced by western European harvest festivals and festivals of the dead with possible pagan roots, particularly the Celtic Samhain. Others maintain that it originated independently of Samhain, and has Christian roots.

It's that time of the year again where most of the shows on TV would have something to do with things that you really don't want to watch when you're alone in the house.  Most of the time I love watching scary movies, documentaries relating to haunting and the like. But actually being alone in an apartment building with the familiar sound of the Twilight Zone being played on a loud volume would scare anyone away.

And since we at the office love scaring ourselves, a Dress-Your-Floor-Scary event was held. I haven't actually looked around to see the other floors Halloween theme, but ours was so grand, I can't stop taking pictures of it.

The classic Dracula theme : Trivia!!!! Count Dracula is a centuries-old vampire, sorcerer, and Transylvanian nobleman, who claims to be a Székely descended from Attila the Hun. He inhabits a decaying castle in the Carpathian Mountains near the Borgo Pass. Unlike the vampires of Eastern European folklore, which are portrayed as repulsive, corpse-like creatures, Dracula exudes a veneer of aristocratic charm. In his conversations with Jonathan Harker, he reveals himself as deeply proud of his boyar heritage and nostalgic for the past times, which he admits have become only a memory of heroism, honor and valor in modern times.

The Haunted House Theme : As per Wiki Trivia : A haunted house is a house or other building often perceived as being inhabited by disembodied spirits of the deceased who may have been former residents or were familiar with the property. Parapsychologists attribute haunting to the spirits of the dead and the effect of violent or tragic events in the building's past such as murder, accidental death, or suicide. More parsimonious explanations for the perception that a house is haunted include misinterpreting noises naturally present in structures, waking dreams, suggestibility, and the effect of toxic substances in environments that can cause hallucinations.

The Cemetery. As per Wiki:  A cemetery is a spatially defined area where the remains of deceased people are buried or are otherwise interred. The term "cemetery" (from Greek κοιμητήριον: sleeping place) implies that the land is specifically designated as a burial ground.

Ghost hunting is more fun in the cemetery (I'm saying this first-hand, my cousins and I love scaring ourselves and going to cemeteries at random just to ghost hunt.) Since it's a place where the dead lies, tales of spirits lurking around is rampant.

Other than the pretty(spooky) floor decors, we also have our Managers dressing the part of zombies, Sadako and Frankenstein. And a few office mates as ghost, ghouls and goblins to complete the whole ensemble of the haunted floor.

It's just too bad I wasn't able to witness the entire scare-me-to-death presentation, But the decorations scared me, more of fascinated me enough so I think I'm good.

A Thank You

A gift consists not in what is done or given, but in the intention of the giver or doer.
                                                                                                           --- Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Long over-due THANK YOU post. I was supposed to do this ages ago, but I always forget to take pictures of my birthday card. Anyone who knows me personally is aware how I'm such a cry-baby. I cry at very little things, most especially about compliments and personal messages.

I'm a collector of random things. Notes passed during classes (I've kept one starting when I was in Elementary, hmmm maybe I'd do a separate blog on my Sentimental Clutter.), scratch papers (those with the infamous FLAMES and HOPE), and greeting cards in particular.

I've been receiving HUGE birthday cards, when I say HUGE, I mean it literally. My teammates are the sweetest, they'd really make an effort if they want to. I'm not sure if this was last year or the year before (why don't people put a date on this birthday card). This is sooo cute I carried it all the way home to San Pedro regardless of the bad weather.

Aside from the huge card (really, I loooove the card), the messages inside made me teary-eyed. I'm not Casper, so I really don't go around greeting tons of friends. So I appreciate it when people I seldom talk to greets me on my birthday. It just means I'm not as unfriendly as I think I am (or maybe these people are just too nice, ^_________^)

The second year of the HUGE birthday card giving. This time I wasn't expecting anything, really. But I still got one.

This card is as special and as huge as the first one, and I'm glad that the same people (if not all) has written me messages and a few additional people, see I'm not the awkward turtle that I suspect myself to be.

So since this is a thank you blog, I want to THANK the people who took their time to write me a message, even if it's just a simple Happy Birthday, I greatly appreciate it.

And most of all thank you to these people who made my birthday a month long celebration.

This is much better

Celebrating With Spirits (Literally)

I was born during the month of August, while most Filipinos would remember this month as a month of eternal rain (okay, I might be exaggerating), I often associate my birthday to the Buddhist's (more popular in Japan than anywhere else) Obon Festival because I'm weird like that.

As per Wiki : Obon or just Bon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors. This Buddhist-Confucian custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.

Obon during the late Edo Period
So, in short my birth month is a Ghost month. It's actually not the entire month of August. Obon usually occurs between July 15 to August 15. Usually the end celebrations starts on August 15 and last for 3 days. Japanese have celebrated this festival since at least the 7th Century A.D. Although many events have changed and now go by different names, certain traditions remain. During the festival, everyone cleans their home and provide special foods such as fruits and vegetables in front of a “butsudan” (The Buddhist families altar). The butsudan is decorated with flowers and paper lanterns (chouchin) and with precise and delicate offerings.

One of the common events during Obon is the Bon Odori originates from the story of Maha Maudgalyayana (Mokuren), a disciple of the Buddha, who used his supernatural powers to look upon his deceased mother. He discovered she had fallen into the Realm of Hungry Ghosts and was suffering. Greatly disturbed, he went to the Buddha and asked how he could release his mother from this realm. Buddha instructed him to make offerings to the many Buddhist monks who had just completed their summer retreat, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month. The disciple did this and, thus, saw his mother's release. He also began to see the true nature of her past unselfishness and the many sacrifices that she had made for him. The disciple, happy because of his mother's release and grateful for his mother's kindness, danced with joy. From this dance of joy comes Bon Odori or "Bon Dance", a time in which ancestors and their sacrifices are remembered and appreciated.

The festival ends with Toro Nagashi, or the floating of lanterns. Paper lanterns are illuminated and then floated down rivers symbolically signaling the ancestral spirits' return to the world of the dead. This ceremony usually culminates in a fireworks display.

Toro Nagashi (floating paper lanterns) are also common customs of Obon. People gather at the river on the evening and send off a tiny floating paper lantern, lit by a candle inside, each lantern lantern representing one ancestor as he or she joins the cavalcade of lanterns, floating down the river to the sea. Traditional Japanese beliefs state that humans come from water, so the lanterns represent their bodies returning to water (traditionally the sea in this case)

Since I'm an avid anime fan... All this knowledge (the above accounts are technical knowledge, okay I've researched them. Thanks to Wiki and Google) are just taken from anime. My favourite traditional practice during the month of August and Obon is the 100 Ghost Stories.

In Japan, the month of August is the time where people worship their ancestors through an event called 'O-bon'. Prior to this, the event has become the gateway for the dead, as well as frightening stories about them. After a long time of worship, high summer is the season for ghosts.

For this event you only need: A quiet room, candles, contestants, stories, a bowl of water. And it was said that you shouldn't break the story telling until you reached 100 or else something bad would happen. (Refer to XXXHolic's Episode 10)

Woodblock prints depicting ghosts
Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai (A Gathering of One Hundred Supernatural Tales) was a popular parlour game during Edo period Japan.

The game was a simple one. In a room, as night fell, one hundred candles were lit. Guests and players gathered around the candles, taking turns telling kaidan. After each kaidan, a single candle was extinguished, and the room slowly grew darker and darker. The process was an evocation, with the final candle believed to summon a supernatural entity.

The origin of the game is unknown. It is thought that it was first played amongst the samurai class as a test of courage, and later became fashionable amongst the townsmen.

A true popular phenomenon, the popularity of Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai combined with new printing technology created a boom in the publication of kaidan-themed books collecting appropriate tales from every corner of Japan and China. Books in this genre often used the term Hyakumonogatari in the title, and in fact the published tale’s popularity continued long after the fad for the game had faded.

Last year, I celebrated with my co-ghost month birthday celebrants. For this year, it's a bit solemn. Spent most of the day with Padre Pio and two of my soul sisters, Orange and Lany. It didn't rain during the day, but when evening came it rained quite heavily even after I prayed for it not to rain (maybe I should've done a sun dance and the cliche 'alay ng itlog' thing).

PG Mode ON! (*^^*)
Maybe my birthday wasn't as eventful as the actual Obon Festival, but my cousin and I did enjoy telling horror stories, when I say 'horror stories' those are stories of our childhood. Hmm... so maybe it wasn't as uneventful as I thought.

A Special Guy

It was early this year when I come to know a special guy. They say that when you find "The One" everything will feel so good and right. I heard a lot about him before I met him.

Indeed he loves his family big time, sense of humor at its finest, super brave ala knight in shining armour, although he's such a weakling because he's sick most of the time. He's not that populaar in school and somehow bullied. With such negative traits when God called and asked him...

FOLLOW ME. -GOD

He dropped everything and let go of his weaknesses and fears. He's Padre Pio a Capuchin priest...

Padre Pio (Francesco Forgione) was born to Giuseppa and Grazio Forgione, in the small farming town of Pietrelcina, Italy on May 25, 1887. Although the Forgiones were poor in material goods, they were certainly rich in their faith life and in the love of God.
Even as a young boy, Francesco had already shown signs of extraordinary gifts of grace. At the age of five, he dedicated his life to God. From his early childhood, he showed a remarkable recollection of spirit and a love for the religious life. His mother described him as a quiet child who, from his earliest years, loved to go to church and to pray. As a young boy, he was able to see and communicate with, not only his guardian angel but also with Jesus and the Virgin Mary. In his simplicity, Francesco assumed everyone had the same experiences. Once a woman who noticed his spiritual demeanor asked him, "When did you consecrate your life to God? Was it at your first Holy Communion?" and he answered, "Always, daughter, always."
When Francesco was fifteen years old, he was admitted to the novitiate of the Capuchin Order of the Friars Minor in Morcone, Italy. He was admired by his fellow-students as well as by his Superiors for his exemplary behavior and his deep piety. One of the novices stated, "There was something which distinguished him from the other students. Whenever I saw him, he was always humble, recollected, and silent. What struck me most about Brother Pio was his love of prayer."
On August 10, 1910, at the age of twenty-three, Padre Pio was ordained to the priesthood. The celebration of the Holy Mass was for Padre Pio, the center of his spirituality.  Due to the long pauses of contemplative silence into which he entered at various parts of the Holy Sacrifice, his Mass could sometimes last several hours.  Everything about him spoke of how intensely he was living the Passion of Christ. The parish priest in Pietrelcina called Padre Pio's Mass, "an incomprehensible mystery." When asked to shorten his Mass, Padre Pio replied, "God knows that I want to say Mass just like any other priest, but I cannot do it."
His parishioners were deeply impressed by his piety and one by one they began to come to him, seeking his counsel. For many, even a few moments in his presence, proved to be a life changing experience. As the years passed, pilgrims began to come to him by the thousands, from every corner of the world, drawn by the spiritual riches which flowed so freely from his extraordinary ministry. To his spiritual children he would say, "It seems to me as if Jesus has no other concern but the sanctification of your soul."
Padre Pio is understood above all else as a man of prayer. Before he was thirty years old he had already reached the summit of the spiritual life known as the "unitive way" of transforming union with God. He prayed almost continuously. His prayers were usually very simple. He loved to pray the Rosary and recommended it to others. To someone who asked him what legacy he wished to leave to his spiritual children, his brief reply was, "My child, the Rosary." He had a special mission to the souls in Purgatory and encouraged everyone to pray for them. He used to say, "We must empty Purgatory with our prayers." Father Agostino Daniele, his confessor, director, and beloved friend said, "One admires in Padre Pio, his habitual union with God. When he speaks or is spoken to, we are aware that his heart and mind are not distracted from the thought and sentiment of God."
Padre Pio suffered from poor health his entire life, once saying that his health had been declining from the time he was nine years old. After his ordination to the priesthood, he remained in his hometown of Pietrelcina and was separated from his religious community for more than five years due to his precarious health.  Although the cause of his prolonged and debilitating illnesses remained a mystery to his doctors, Padre Pio did not become discouraged. He offered all of his bodily sufferings to God as a sacrifice, for the conversion of souls. He experienced many spiritual sufferings as well. "I am fully convinced that my illness is due to a special permission of God," he said.
Shortly after his ordination, he wrote a letter to his spiritual director, Father Benedetto Nardella, in which he asked permission to offer his life as a victim for sinners. He wrote, "For a long time I have felt in myself a need to offer myself to the Lord as a victim for poor sinners and for the souls in Purgatory. This desire has been growing continually in my heart so that it has now become what I would call a strong passion. . .It seems to me that Jesus wants this." The marks of the stigmata, the wounds of Christ, appeared on Padre Pio's body, on Friday, September 20, 1918, while he was praying before a crucifix and making his thanksgiving after Mass. He was thirty-one years old and became the first stigmatized priest in the history of the Church. With resignation and serenity, he bore the painful wounds in his hands, feet, and side for fifty years.
In addition, God endowed Padre Pio with many extraordinary spiritual gifts and charisms including the gift of healing, bilocation, prophecy, miracles, discernment of spirits, the ability to abstain beyond man's natural powers from both sleep and nourishment, the ability to read hearts, the gift of tongues (the ability to speak and understand languages that he had never studied), the gift of conversions, the grace to see angelic beings in form, and the fragrance which emanated from his wounds and which frequently announced his invisible presence. When a friend once questioned him about these charisms, Padre Pio said, "You know, they are a mystery to me, too." Although he received more than his share of spiritual gifts, he never sought them, never felt worthy of them. He never put the gifts before the Giver. He always remained humble, constantly at the disposal of Almighty God.

Being in his chapel never fails to give me peace of mind. Regardless of how messy my mind or life can gets. Homilies at his church never fails to give answers to some questions that bugged me for some time. It surely hits the fragile me that I burst into tears.

Today is his birthday and I didn't let this day passed without visiting his church. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PADRE PIO! It's such a wonderful feeling knowing you. Thank you for bringing me back to God's light.

Pray, Hope and Don't Worry -Padre Pio

The Day My Mind Went Blank

Help!!My Mind is Blank!!
On second thought, perhaps it's just resting.

Update Soon : This phrase is one of the most annoying comments I never wanted to receive but am unfortunate to always get from my readers. When I say readers, what I mean is the 20 people who subscribed to my story. Sadly, only 1/4 of them understands me when I say R & R (read and review). I sometimes even go to the extent of putting "comments, suggestions and violent reactions are deeply appreciated."

I’m sitting in my room, staring at a blank sheet of Word Document. The cursor continues to blink, checking the time… an hour has already passed and I still have nothing. I’m in a panic, I haven’t updated my story for almost two weeks now. For a few, that’s not a cause of distress but for someone like me I know those few days that I haven’t written or posted anything means a loss of readers, a cause for followers to unsubscribe and that’s a risk I don’t want to take.

It was late July when I decided to man it up and post a story in a certain fan café. It’s an online community where avid fans of a certain KPop group I’m currently going gaga over with come together to “spazz” about said KPop group. I’ve had the story, the concept, even the chapters all planned out. The only thing that I need to do is take that risk. And so I did… like many others I’ve posted the teaser, I even went to the extent as to make my own poster. I left it alone for a few weeks to see if someone would be interested. I was so excited to check back on my account and see the comments they would leave about my story.  But excitement turned to disappointment. Two weeks have gone and two or three other stories were posted, old stories had views and were given comments on. Mine is at the bottom of the page, being ignored.

I thought to myself was my story that uninteresting? Or maybe it’s something they weren’t used to reading; you know the usual boy-meets-girl-fall-in-love-break-up-and-get-back-together-again. But do I want to be conventional in order to satisfy them? No. So I decided to stick to my story plot, posted the first chapter, then the second. Still no response, so I said if the third chapter still doesn’t get any response (there are views, but of course I want to know if people understand what I write, so I need comments), I’ll stop. I’d still write the story but I’ll just keep it to myself.

A few days after the third chapter was posted, I logged in to the site expecting my story to be on the bottom of the page again only to see it on the top part of the page, two members of the forum decided to speak up and comment on my work. I was giddy! Regardless if it was a bad comment or a good one, I didn’t care. Someone took notice (not just one, but two and in Math two is more) and I finally get readers. After a while two became three, then four. This made me inspired to write. I’ve already written until the fifth chapter and had the plot all figured out. How each chapter would play out, what the conflict would be, my resolution and finally the not so happily ever after. After posting (or for others ‘publishing’) my sixth chapter the readers stop posting comments, I thought maybe they were busy, it was just a week since I’ve updated and based from experience it usually took about two or three weeks for them to read and comment. So I waited and waited and waited. No comments came, again this made me doubt my story, perhaps it was just interesting to me. Maybe they didn’t think it was funny like I do (hey, you need to admire your own work).

I still continued posting up to the seventh chapter and still nothing. I started reading other stories in the forum to find out why they have a lot of readers. There wasn’t anything special to them (well except for one story that I became interested in), the plot was cliché, the title wasn’t that catchy and not bragging but I thought I had better grammar. And then one day, I received a PM from one of the frequent writers in the forum, it was a message promoting her work. And it hit me: I need to get my work out there. I made a catchy message shamelessly promoting my story and sent it to everyone. It wasn’t easy since the forum has over 100,000 subscribers.  Active or not, I sent them a PM.

The next day I was flooded with replies, some saying they’ll check my story out, some telling me they weren’t into fanfiction and a few who actually wrote me a message telling me that they enjoyed reading my story. I gained about 15 subscribers  just that one day, for a rookie like me 15 is plenty and usually not everybody on the author’s PM list are active in giving comments and I’m glad that all 15 of them bothered writing even a short comment about what I wrote. And my favourite fanfiction writer is one of them, giving me positive feedback and even giving pointers on how to improve my work.

Now that you know the history of how I began being a fanfiction writer, you’d still probably be confused of the reason I am on edge about not being able to write anything or not able to update. 15 subscribers for me is a lot, and it’s not easy pleasing those 15 people, even though I don’t really care if they think that my story was not heading towards the predictable. You could lose readers if you don’t constantly update. You need to keep them hooked to your story, like watching a TV Drama, if it’s something you anticipate you’d most likely be impatient if something else came up instead of what you wanted to watch.

As of the moment I might be spending my time doing this blog instead of writing my story’s thirteenth chapter. But that blinking cursor and empty white page is still there.  And my mind is still blank.

First Time Blogger: Oh, How I Love First Time!

Hello world! I am a bit nervous... Obviously from the title itself, this is my first time to blog and I am not born a writer.  Can you all bear with me for I forgot the rules of grammar and I don’t know the form of writing a blog. And I am afraid of criticism. This is not really my thing, you know writing about anything and people will see it publicly. I write in my diary though (of course, only me seeing it) but... Let me tell you how I've come up to this. Maybe for friendship’s sake? hahaha! Well, let us blame our big fella (hahaha). He just gave me quality friends, when I say quality, beautiful inside and out and smart. Smart? That is a big question why on earth I am with these intellectual people. I mean from the saying "birds of the same feather, flock together"? I really don’t think I belong to this group (hahaha). I was just kidding. I know why i have them. So many reasons, no need to say it in public because they know it.  Now, why did I just mention friends here? They are just the reason why I will have my first blog ever (woohoo?!kinda hesitant still.haha!). My friends Erin, Orange and Lany. They believe in me I think. So here it is. They have their own blog sites but they want to have one with all of us together so we could share our different insights on random things. It's like having coffee and conversation which we usually do and all love. Talking and exchanging thoughts. Kinda intellectual on the last part (feeler!haha).

The story behind. They have been planning this before 2012 came, now its almost half way of 2012 before they have convinced me (haha!). I have so many fears ofcourse the reason why it took me a while before I said yes. And I really don't know what to tell you guys. I'm stumped. Im always like this. I have so many things on my mind but I cannot express it very well. But now, I tried. Maybe the reason is I want to conquer my fear. My fear of 'what will people say' by 'making mistakes'. It could be the hindrance in doing my best i guess. It just made me realized that if i wont try, how would I know my mistakes. And making mistakes is part of our life. It is an art. The art of growing and overcoming your frustrations, insecurities and worries. And this is just a simple way of facing reality. Facing your own anxiety. I have so many fears specially trying new things because i might not do well. Until, I've become used to it. When I got out of my comfort zone. I mean when i was out of my 8 year relationship, a lot of new things for me came. If you would allow me to tell you a little story of how I was when i was there. Well, I was one of those girls who cannot go out of the box. Sad to say my life then was just my boyfriend (ang corny!hahaha!). That is why I never tried new things for me until I was out of it. I know, the magnificent one helped me get out of it. And new things for me came. And it helped me grow in so many ways. I've become self reliant. And I get to know myself very well. And somehow I was able to conquer my fears. And I have the best feeling always after I've done it. And this blogging thing? I know I will learn a lot from this. And now, I didn't realize I've composed two paragraphs already. I know there are so many points to improve and I'm willing to listen to all of your comments.

Why will I be afraid of committing mistakes if it will help me grow? And sooner I will be a good blogger. And before I end this, let me tell you few of my first time...

My first ever out of the country. Thailand is the first country I've visited and if I will recall, my first time to ride on a plane too. After this, I've become addicted to travel. I get to know myself very well in every places I visit. Though expensive, I find ways to make it practical yet unforgettable.

My first ever serious run. Before this, I had different runs but this I must say is the first serious one. I took 10 kms for 1hr and 40 mins. Not bad for a first timer though.

My first ever run with no stop. Took 5kms for 42 mins. My goal was to finish it without stopping or walking and I've made it. And the lesson I learned during the run? It pays to be patient in a distance race. Maintain a steady speed for the majority of it so you’ll have energy to finish fast. You’ll know it works when late in the race you start picking off people who passed you in the first miles - nikerun. It's like your journey in life, if you aim too fast to the finish line, you might not enjoy your journey.
green and white run.

My first ever sport. I never thought I would have a sport. When I was growing, my parents didn't exposed us to any sports until I have my job. It maybe too late for my age but naah, I am enjoying it. And this sport helped me improve my confidence.

My first ever skim boarding. I was afraid of falling. I got injured and fell so many times but it was worth a try.

My first ever poi dance. This helped me improved my confidence too.

My first ever height conquering. I was one of those who have fear in heights but I've made it through Cebu's skywalk.

My first ever alone travel. I was there not on leisure but to try a new path. I took the chance when an opportunity came. No matter how I was afraid on how it might end, I tried. It didn’t end up happily but the adventure cannot be replaced.

Till my next blog...
