Magic Mike (A Butt-Full Night)

I've encountered a couple of stripper in my life, and believe me, screaming was always part of it. Although it wasn't like screaming for help but like a screaming wow! hahaha! I haven't been in any stripper club, (though when I was in college that would be like our crazy dream, another one is to have a underground gambling hub co-managed by friends. insane! ikr! LOL) those where once in a blue moon experience where I was invited to attend a bridal shower. It was indeed a crazy night!

Moving on, there's a new talk of the town, especially on the female population and becky-ies too. What is it??!!! MAGIC MIKE!!! MAGIC MIKE!!! MAGIC MIKE!!!

Set in the world of male strippers, Magic Mike is derected by Steven Soderbergh and stars Channing Tatum in a story inspired by his real life. The film follow Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer caledd The Kid (Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.
Luckily, I still have 4 movie tickets that I've won last sports fest, so we (Monee and Me, we're tatums-butt fan!LOL) forced and tagged along LV and Erinssi. The butt exposure is definitely what we're waiting for. Talking about a Manyak Wednesday! LOL! The movie schedule that we've picked starts not until 0955pm since we're tied at work till 0830pm that night.

Well watching a movie on a big screen won't be complete without a pop corn and soda, so before we head inside the cinema I bought a Super Combo from Tatters. Yaaaay! Monee lined up and bought our tickets for Magic Mike and since she knows our seat number we told her to lead the way. After awhile, comfortably seated on our chosen seat, two movie goers looking at us suspiciously as if we stole their reserved seat. Little did I know, we are actually seating on their reserved seat. **Mooonnnneeeee!!! Mooooonnnnneeeeee!!!!** Monee whose always not herself apologized as we laugh it out when we transferred to our correct seat. Talking about an embarrassing moment, this is actually in my long list now.

Topless men, covered penis flapping, butts exposure, sexual innuendos, dry humping was all part of it. I didn't expect anything on this movie, all I know is that Channing Tatum is hot and I'll definitely see his butt. I just want to know what everybody's going gaga about. Curiosity kills the cat they said, and I really died! Chosss! But having the story angle to brother and sister relationship, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling because my siblings cares the same way to me (though not the same problem, duuh!) and of course the true love (Brooke and Mike) side of the story wont escape me.

Oooohhh yeesss, I enjoyed the film, maybe because it isn't the usual for me, and who am I kidding, Channing and Alex are totally hooott! Plus the factor that I'm with friends that I trust the most. Till the next movie date, mga baliw!

Marvel Studios: Avengers

Growing up I'm more of a Power Rangers, Captain Planet, BioMan, Shaider, Ultraman Ace fan rather the Marvel comics heroes. My older brother has more to say on the Marvel thingy. I remember him coming home with this suspicious brown paper package handled with utmost care. And when he opened it...

BAAAM!

...fresh from this local comic shop boasting that it's one of their limited edition, woooaaaah! The hell I care! LOL!

After so many years here comes "Avengers" movie. Huwwhhaaattt??!! All right I didn't turned ballistic at all when i heard the news, naaah aahhh! But I know the guys, they are from my neighborhood (choooss!), well I'm definitely not a fan but I'm not stupid. Let's just say I dunno their whole story. So when the movie came out, I said... "All right!! So how are you doing today?" Toinks!

Until day, weeks passed and heard the positive raves from the movie goers. So when a friend invited me for a movie night out, I decided to go ahead and check the movie.

After the events from the film "Thor", humanity realized that they need more powerful weapons to counter-attack alien invading forces. Coincidentally, they find the tesseract, a cube-like structure with vast power, that they hope they can harness to these weapons. Unfortunately, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) gains possesion of the tesseract and has a plan to takeover as king of Earth. Now, Nick Fury ( Samuel L. Jackson) has decided that the only hope that humanity has is to rekindle the now-defunct Avenger initiative and assemble a group of extraordinary men namely: Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson). The group must find Lki and the tesseract before he is able to use its power to gain access to an alien army.
I was hesitant to watch the movie on the big screen thinking that I won't able to understand it since I haven't watch solo movies of any of the avengers and damn I'm not into bloody fight scenes. Although I'm not seems like it, I'm indeed a peace lover. (Choss!)

Surprisingly I find it very entertaining and worth watching. The turn and twist of events hold me on my seat and eyes glued on the screen all through out the movie. Dull moments is alienated in this movie, Iron Man sense of humor let me laugh-rolling out loud. Such a funny man and If I may say Robert Downey Jr. played his part well. Now I'm thinking of going to a nearby video rental store for the Iron Man The Movie (is it good guys??!! shoot me an email if it's worth it!). Actually every story of each of the avenger are definitely good, it was like a typical aliens wanted to conquer but in the end the good will prevail. I haven't watch any trailer of the movie so I'm really puzzled what role was Mark Ruffalo played until he turned into a green scary hulk! My niece was soooo aliw with The Hulk especially when he do all the shouting and moves scaring people around him. Chris Evans is definitely one helluva eye candy (gwapo aaayy!) his seriousness however is a big turn off to me (ummfftt! choossy pa! LOL) however he must been living to his name the captain that's why he's acting like that, so i'll let it go! Paaaaak! The Black Widow is ... uhmmm who is she?! hahaha! I don't know her ever until I watched the film. Good job on Scarlett acting, and she's naturally pretty just like me (un ang sabi ng nanay, kaya wag na kumontra!).

Sometimes you just have to go beyond your comfort zone, and you'll realize that it isn't that bad.

HEHEHE! too much for a movie review... joke! All I want to say this move is a two thumbs up! Superbly awesome. Money worth it. Belly aching tawa out loud! Paaaak! That's it! Pansit!

P.S.
I heard that someone got a lot of free movie passes from ayala cinemas!
Yaaahhhoooooo!!
That means a lot of movie reviews coming up on this blog!
Now looking for my popcorn sponsorSSSS?! LOL!

American Pie the Reunion!

This post has been long overdue and I apologize to my friend (Orange) for not posting this sooner. Well,we dont see each other very often so everytime we meet up it feels like a reunion to me. And just so we could do something that day, We've decided to watch American Pie: The Reunion. If you were able to watch the first 3 movies then you'll definitely love this movie more. You'll see how Michelle and Jim already have a baby, Stifler's Got a Job, Oz and Heather are meant for each other Kevin is a married guy, and not to Vicki, and Finch's life is not what he wanted it to be. All of the cast was present including Nadia and there were some additions like Stifler's boss and Finch's mom! There was no "blah" moments on the movie and I guarantee that you will laugh from the beginning of the movie until the very end.

Stifler: " High school was awesome. But then we graduated and everybody started getting married and all that other stupid crap…"

10/10 for this movie and check out the sound track as well!

Tyra Banks Just Fired Everyone On America’s Next Top Model

Miss J. Alexander, Jay Manuel, and noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker have been dismissed from America’s Next Top Model after 18 seasons. Now who’s going to teach aspiring models how to walk a runway and take fierce photographs?

Page Six reports that the judges’ contracts weren’t renewed because of a “production decision” to amp up social media efforts. Producers have reportedly been in touch with bloggers like Bryan Boy and fashion insiders with a strong Internet following to be on the show.
Banks and Barker awkwardly said their farewells to each other via Twitter:

But Alexander doesn’t have a Twitter, and Manuel is too busy to update us on his situation:

Bryan Boy hasn’t confirmed or denied reports. But if the rumors are indeed true and he accepts a spot on the judges’s panel, he’ll be making even more dough than he already does.

Mockingjay

You know what's sad about reading books? It's that you fall in love with the characters. They grow on you. And as you read, you start to feel what they feel - all of them - you become them. And when you're done, you're never the same. Sure you're still you, you look the same, talk in the same manner, but something in you has changed. Something i the way you think, the way you choose, sometimes, even the things you say may differ. But it all comes down to the state you go to after a nice novel. The after-feeling. It's amazing, but somehow, you feel left alone by that world you were once in. It's overwhelming. But it makes you sad. Cause for once you were this, this otherworldly being in... Neverwhere, and then you suddenly have to say goodbye after a ferw weeks from when you read the last page. When you've recovered from that state. It's just... quite sad. --Atomos

After finishing the third and final installment, it made me realized one thing, it's like a slapped of reality on my face... IT IS NOT A ROMANCE NOVEL! It was ended fairly well (go team peeta!) however it's not a grandiose love story ending. (Orange, there are more things than romantic love! uuurrgghh!) It ended well close to reality, it's like you gain some, you lose some... a tragic loss that I broke into tears. (ahaahaayy! I got emotional, my apology!)

All through out the story is like a gloomy set up for me. The brutal scenes, horrifying ordeal and nonstop violence is all out in this book.

District Thirteen does exist. Half-hearted in a way Katniss officially took the responsibility being the symbol of rebellion against the powerful Capitol. So yes this book is prominently about war. Not just the literal war against the Capitol but the war within Katniss being. Katniss was a bit confused of everything, well being the Mockingjay is not living like a princess, the responsibility of protecting her family, her people and the rebels is in her hands.

Totally unexpected how the events played, even with some unwelcome spoilers from friends, I didn't imagine things to happen that way. I was warned that Primrose will die (uhmm maybe they just want me to ready my hanky) however still i cried a river when I read the part. Suzanne Collins has this magic of building each of the characters in the story, so whenever someone dies, it doesn't feel the same, lonely and empty.

I wasn't satisfied with the ending because Collin can end it on a higher note without leaving any question inside my head but I think that's how some author do it. They wants us to think about the loop holes in their story. Uhhmmm... ssooo satisfaction increase to some bar huh??!! (i need to think! i need to think!! kunware intellectual?! LOL)

This is not a usual read for me, I go for happy ending, always happy ending because I know that there is no such thing. Since happiness is a choice and even in a bad circumstance you just need to extend those smile and just be happy. But with this Collins masterpiece, it seems that somehow it's reality... because imperfection is reality. It's flawed but real! And maybe it's the most real novel I ever read.
